2013-10-12 00:59:32 - T.R. Threston, Jane Pullman, Jane Waterman, Andrew Michaels, Dorian Macon and Andre D'Orleans named as 2014 recipients of Globally Notable Individuals of Positive Change by Harris Charitable Trust.

The Harris Charitable Trust was launched in 1954 by Susan and Wellington Charles Harris. Currently, W. Charles Harris sits as Chairman of the Board, and, his son Wellington C. Harris services as President, and, his daughter Penelope Harris Roche serves as Vice President. In addition to keeping The Harris Charitable Trust true to its original mission statement (HCT supports work of selected organizations that improves or increases their effectiveness in delivering services, including efforts to alleviate critical shortages of healthcare providers, non-profit management, and other areas of need identified by the trustees); in recent years, W. Charles Harris created the annual Harris Charitable Trust Annual Mock Fox Hunt* and Gala Ball which honors men and women who have been selected by the Harris Charitable Trust as "Globally Notable Individuals of Positive Change."

The Harris Trust has established a comprehensive selection process for identifying and selecting the most exceptional individuals from thousands of nominees from around the world who are presented for consideration by companies, organizations or individuals+ and assessed according to rigorous selection criteria. Only the most notable and outstanding candidates in their specific areas of work, fund-raising or volunteerism are selected from the political, medical, business, civil society, athletic, academia, journalistic, humanitarian, philanthropic, and arts and culture sectors across the globe.

Individuals may not nominate themselves. If someone is nominated by another individual, two supporting recommendations are required from professionals in the nominee's field.

The Annual Mock Fox Hunt is held on the private 500 acre Harris estate just outside Northampton, UK, and, true to a mock fox hunt form, no actual fox is chased, hunted or killed during the event. Rather it is a festive event for participants of all horseback riding abilities, and, every safety is taken to insure a safe journey for riders, horses, hounds, and, our furry friends on the ground.
